Jean Lemonnier was born in July 1999 in France. Interested in notions of sciences and spirituality, Jean aims to create fictions of alternative permanence through various mediums.

In 2021, Jean degreed from MO.CO. ESBA, fine arts based in Montpellier, France, where he worked on different mediums and techniques like drawing, engraving, video, volume with wood and metal. He moved in 2022 to Japan to continue his studies at Tokyo University of the Arts master Global Arts Practice, where he discovered stone carving and perfected his skills on video and ink drawings. He graduated in 2024 and won the GAP Award.

He worked as a stonemason in Takamatsu, Japan, from 2025 to 2026 to deepen his understanding of the medium and gain a closer insight into Japanese cemeteries and local rituals. He then returned to Tokyo to co-write and direct his first film while continuing to work on other projects, including art videos and music videos.

Now back in France, Jean seeks to build a professional career in the film industry while continuing his writing and drawing practice.
